I dofollow on my blog but only people that are active, 5 or more comments that add value to the conversation. I am very harsh with spam. I don't allow any keywords to be used as a name, If you don't have a real name, I will not be allowing your comments. If you talk about something unrelated to the post no publishing, If you tell me your cousin ? Google ? yahoo helped you find my amazing blog and you are book marking, it has no value and you are probably a spam bot looking for free links.
I am seeing many more do follow blogs these days and I like it. I think it is better for the internet as a whole, since it makes the readers want to actually contribute to the conversation rather than spamming.
